Hey everyone, my name is Anthony and welcome to my countdown.
2015 movies are actually a good year i watched in cinema, some that its nice to bring back or memories, some that are creative and impressed and some that are... boring and awful... So, i went in Cinema every month of 2015, i mean my father spend a dollars to buy me a ticket and i bough some snacks, because why not. ^^;
So today, im gonna pick 8 films that i reviewed. Il start to average to the best that i watched.
So lets start with Dishonorable mentions, with Taken 3, Fantastic 4 and Pixels. These movies are pretty bad and boring that they would've been great...
Taken 3 is just a same boring story from the first Taken (If il buy the DVD of the first one, because its a good one... ^^;). Fantastic 4 is probably the worst reboot that Fox ever done and they planned to make a sequel, and it was quickly cancelled for Box-office bomb. And Pixels is laughably stupid, its just a generic disaster movie with video games. Its boring and stupid. But some people love this movie, which i don't even understand why?!
So we get the S***s out of the way, here's my Top 8 good movies of 2015. ;)
Number 8: The Good Dinosaur
Surprisingly, this is the first time that Pixar released two movies in the same year, along with Inside-out. But sadly, this was the first Pixar film with Box-office bomb, which i felt bad for them, despite they did good with Inside-out. :(
Anyway, the story of the movie is pretty much the same as "The land before time", its about a young dinosaur who's finding the way to get back home with a few fellow of dinosaurs. The animation itself looks beautiful and feels realistic of the background. Ans some characters are likable like the gang of T-Rex and Alro's human friend name Spot. The relationship of Arlo and Spot is fun, cute and heart-warming for losing their parents. However, some characters (like the T-Rex guys) should've make more appearance, but they only showed in the middle act of the movie.
The movie might be good, but it would've been an interesting film to never ripping off Don Bluth's classic film.
Number 7: The Goosebumps movie
Ah, the good'ol Goosebumps story by the famous R.L. Stine. We've been waiting a years to looking for the movie if its an adaptation movie or something that its original. Turns out, it was pretty original. The story is actually quite good, its about R.L. Stine wrote a book that was curse to bring the creatures to life like Slappy the dummy, the snow monster, a giant praying mantis and few others if you ever read the book.
But what makes this on lower list, is that some acting are good like Jack Black. But some that would've been good role, which some character that either complicated or cheesy. And the visuals of the movie looks good, but some that either look ugly like the previous generation consoles.
the movie is original at goodness, but it might be some issues after my anticipations.
Number 6: Cinderella 2015
I remember saw the animated classic when i was like 7 with my old VHS tape, but its gone, because we're in the next gen with discs like DVD and Blu-Ray. Anyway, Disney decided to make a live action remake of the original animated film. And it was rather good. I mean when i watched the animated classic, even though we watch about Cinderella, but focus with those mice, which we want a main focus of her. But now we got one in 2015. Story itself follow the book a bit. A young girl who lost her family that she lives with her step-mother, but alone in the house where her step mother and her twin sisters going to the ballroom and blah blah blah, you probably know the story... (Unless if you never heard of it... ^^;) Some the acting of the movie is much as good like Lily James as Cinderella and Richard Madden as Prince Charming. The production view of the movie looks pretty good. Even though some part that is a little un-realistic.
Plus, the short of Frozen Fever is pretty fun for watching. And yes, there was a sequel plan that was already confirmed.
Cinderella 2015, it was a fun movie, even though its may or may not as good the animated classic.
Number 5: Ant-man
We all familiar about Marvel Cinematic Universe, we like to talking about Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Black Widow, Thor, Hawkeye and plenty of them. Of course, we wanna see some other heroes on the big screen. And thus we have Ant-man.
The production work of the movie looks great with a cool costume design of Ant-man and The Yellow jacket and the acting is also great for their fun role like Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas and Corey Stoll. But the story is not as good to looking for. Its a same thing as Iron Man, its starts with a hero being in prison, until he was free to become a hero to fighting over an evil corporation.
It is a good movie, but some people said that its rather a little bit weak. But hey, we're looking forward to The Civil War on 2016. ;)
Number 4: The Peanuts movie
Ah yes, the good'ol Peanuts story with our familiar characters, Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus, Sally, Schroeder, Snoopy and a lot more of them.
Its been a years that we never have a chance to have a big screen with them, ever since we watch a TV specials. But now we have one. The story itself is good, minus the sub-plot about Snoopy who tries to save his love interest from The Red Baron, because it has nothing to do with the main plot. The animation looks pretty good to make a 2D style from the hand-drawn animation in the past (plus the movie also has an hand-drawn animation, for some parts in the movie) and the kids acting had their good talents. ^^
The Peanuts movie, it may be fun for watching to our nostalgia, but some story had a problem that has nothing to do with main plot.
Number 3: Jurassic world
Ok, i know a lot people saying that its not as good than Jurassic Park, because some characters and the story would've been better. Personally, i find it pretty interesting to watch, if you ever watch The Spielberg's classic in the 90's. The story itself is much the same as the first one, but at least it has some good part of it. And the setting of the park looks pretty damn cool that i'd rather going in there. Even though its way too dangerous from the rampage... ^^;
The effects of the dinosaurs is pretty good with an animatronics and some CGI. I gotta say, the design of Indominus rex looks pretty cool, vicious and scary like T-Rex. The some of the acting is good to watch like Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. Even though some of the writing had some issues like the first movie.
Either way, it was pretty good to bring back after a biggest smegged up sequel like Jurassic Park 3. But i notice that they actually plan to make a sequel, which i would like to see what happens next.
Number 2: Inside-out
Now we got a Pixar disappointments out of the way, we're going a real good one. :) Pete Doctor came back in business to make his third movie, with emotional characters on our minds. which its pretty creative in our mind. The story itself is pretty fun for watching with Joy, Sadness and Bing Bong's adventure to find the way back to the basements to bringing Riley's memories back after a huge mistake from Sadness. The animation itself looks colorful and impressive to watch (minus the workers that i find them a lazy design...) and the acting is a great performance with Amy Phoeler, Phyllis Smith, Bill Hader, Lewis Black, Mindy Kaling, Richard Kind and few other voice actors. (And yes, even Pete did a voice acting as Father's Anger)
Now you probably wondering why its not number one on my list. Well, it was thinking it could be a best movie of 2015. But its not really the best of the year, It was the best animated film of 2015. Even i wished this movie would've received a billion dollars of the Box-office. But its not as highest of their Box-office, until...
And my number one movie of 2015 goes to....
Number 1: Star Wars: The force awakens
Oh my... Where do i begin? Its just... Amazing movie that i've been waiting over 10 years... 0_0
This is the move that everyone is going crazy to describing how awesome this movie was. The story and the setting is impressive, even though J.J. Abrams took a same story from the first Star Wars, but completely different. The production of the movie looks incredible that it looks like a Sci-fi realistic with a greatcamera angle that i feel like we're in the roller coaster. And the acting is a great performance to watch. Especially that its nice to brought back the original actors like Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, a few other old casts. And the new casts is also good to watch, like Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis and Adam Driver.
Plus, this movie broke the record for the highest grossing box-office in weekend with over 1.16 Billion Dollars! Holy S***, thats a lot of money when it comes to our anticipation! 0-0
Like i said, the ending is a total shocker that i've ever seen in my life. And i know some people spoiled it, but i prefer to never explaining it, because i don't care to talking about the ending.
So, lets see how the sequels going for two years later and we're gonna find out in the future. Its always nice to bring it back and it definitely deserve to be on my number one movie of 2015.
Now before il end my countdown, il going to talking about my honorable mention. That is Avengers: age of Ultron
The movie itself looks great when i saw some trailer. Especially Iron Man's Hulkbuster armor, which its insanely cool to fighting against The Incredible Hulk. And it also have a new heroes like Vision, Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, War Machine and Falcon. Sadly, i haven't seen the movie on Cinema, because i was busy to draw something, playing video games or other stuff that im lazy. But don't worry, the movie is already released on DVD and Blu-Ray that il buy it to give a shot. Oh well, better luck next time...
So thats all for my countdown, we're turn our page to 2016 to looking at the next movies we're looking for.
Thanks for reading, and im Anthony, signing out. And of course, Happy New Year. ;)
