Top 13 movies of 2018

Hey everyone, my name is Anthony and welcome back to my countdown.

Last time, i covered my list of worst movies that i wanted to get off my chest, wither is a poorly cash-in based on arcade game, a mecha vs Kaiju with a poor joke and one of the worst animated movie since "The Emoji Movie".

But i won't stay longer in negative, i wanna go to the positive way to looking back of some good films that i watched.

I wanted to be a simple 10 movies, but i decided to narrowing to 13, because 10 isn't good enough with some films that i liked. And not to mention, its the year with so many superhero films, which most of them will easily be on my list.

For this list, its only my pick that i watched and talked about, so some films like "Isle of Dogs" won't be on my list, because i wanted to see it, but pulled the plug that i wasn't ready. Also some films like "Mary Poppins Returns" and "Bumblebee" won't be here too, which although Mary Poppins Return is nice to see her again, while Bumblebee that i was not happy that i expected the worst, but it was surprisingly good.

Oh well, lets get started with the goodies, shall we?

But, il start with one Honorable mentions.

Honorable Mention: Dr. Seuss's The Grinch

This Illumination's version of The Grinch had a potential, despite people (like me) are questioning for why another one since Ron Howard's version. But in fairness, its probably better than Ron Howard's version.

The animation looks pretty cool and colorful, since this movie came out for preparing Christmas, a very cool decoration and colorful in the Whoville. And the climatic stealing decoration with The Grinch is nice see it again since before, but more creative with his gadgets, its a pretty good execution sequence what we like to see in the third act.

But the reason why i didn't put on the list, is that sometimes the character designs feels like a similar designs of other Illumination films, which i maybe understand why people noticed, but its not worst character designs i've ever seen, they're rather alright, some are nice design, some are cute or some that its limited.

Speaking of limited, most of the characters aren't have anything special and rather remain the same from the book. Like Max is a loyal dog, Cindy Lou is a cute and curious girl and some new characters are rather limited for their appearance like Fred is just a generic fat reindeer. But as far as i know, the movie mainly focus about The Grinch, though me may not as iconic like Chuck Jones's version nor even over-the-top like Jim Carrey. Grinch is more loner, grouch and sometimes pulling humiliations at the Whos. But of course, i think Benedict Cumberbatch's role of The Grinch is actually not bad that i can say for his role.

However, the story is pretty much the same as the book, but like expending where Grinch wondering around for his shopping and pulling humiliations as i mentioned before, and even setting up his plan to stealing Christmas decorations. And having an origin about The Grinch is although its nice to have it, but its pretty vague that i was questioning for why he's all alone in the orphanage. The music is pretty bellow average that i forgot to point out in my review, the narration of Pharrell is "meh".

This Christmas isn't the worst, but its rather an ok film, even if the kids will like this movie for Christmas.

Honorable mention: First Man

We always fascinated of going in space since our childhood, but sometimes going in space could be dangerous. In the 90's a failed mission movie called "Apollo 13" was big deal with great reviews and box office success.

And the, the one that some people like to see (like myself in curiosity) is "First Man". This is the true story was a big deal of a first man of the moon, namely Neil Armstrong.

The plot is more about Neil's life and his training of going in space, which its nice to see how he went, but it takes a while before we reach to the third act where Neil and his partner going to the moon for the first time.

The writing is maybe interesting, since like i said, it mainly focuses on Neil's life, his mission and his truth to his wife and kid, which its nice, but i still care about the mission in space with NASA.

Though the rest of characters aren't as anything to say, but the presentation looks pretty impressive what it looks like what i was wondering from our main hero's mission, from space mission then to the moon, they did a pretty good job for the production.

Simple and kinda flawed, this is the film that you'll like to see if you ever familiar of "First man of the moon".

Number 13: Halloween 2018

Lets start with the one that it maybe disappointed, but i kinda like it more than "The Happytime Murders".

The horror genre pretty much mixed in nowadays, some has cool idea and a good adaptations, but others are a basically a cash-in or even made a stupid story.

And the slasher genre feels like its dying after the 70's and 80's. But one series came back for 40 years is Halloween. I enjoyed watching the first Halloween from 1978, and its no wonder why it became a horror classic and it was debatable for a first Slasher film that brought a new genre.

With this one, its a sequel from the first Halloween, ignoring all previous installments and even the remake by Rob Zombie, which it makes a lot more sense. Anyway, 40 years after the first Halloween, Michael Myers is been sanitarium from many years for murdering people and escaped from Dr. Loomis, but then he was escaped from the bus. Meanwhile, Laurie Strode is suffered a PTSD, living herself in isolation house to be safe, but with Michael is on the loose, Laurie had enough that not only she buys weapons, but also warning to his daughters and granddaughters from the masked killer.

Even though its nice to bring back the old root, the presentation looks pretty cool that even though its peaceful, but went into the horror in the Halloween night with Michael Myers's killing, the killing scene are impressive, but also brutal and kinda gruesome. And Michael Myers's appearance is welcome return too with his old dirty mask and his boiler suit.

The only reason why its on lower list, its because although it has some good characters like Michael Myers, Laurie Strode and Dr. Ranbir Sartain, but the rest of the characters are rather forgettable for the cliche tokens like many horror films. Not to mention, its more of a vengeful story for Laurie, we all know the vengeful plots is always done before.

Even though its a nice return, but i don't call a perfect horror film, thats why its only number 13.

Number 12: Aquaman

DCEU are always having bad shape for a lot of disappointed films for what they tried so hard to competing MCU. But like i said, did have a good one, such as Wonder Woman.

After "Justice League", i've been begging to have something good, the result is half right for Aquaman.

To give a credit, they did a nice work for how Atlantis look like in a big budget film and the filming in Morocco and Canada are pretty cool location choices. Even though some CG are pretty nice for the sea creatures and the lighting of Atlantis and colorful. And the action scenes are pretty cool with the powers and fighting skills, even though it could be a bit violent with stabbing and Atlanteans bleeding out from a battle armor for losing the breath.

Though story is basically a typical adventure with Aquaman and his love interest Mera, but movie just goes whatever it wants by switching the main plot to an origin back and forth about Arthur Curry's training and learning the truth about his lost mother, which it droves us confusion from the messy transition.

And the characters, while we like our main hero Aquaman and Mera, but the rest are ok, but others ended up in waste of potential, most notable is Black Manta, which we expected to see Black Manta as a main villain for seeking revenge over his dead father? But no, he's basically a throw away villain that the real main villain is Orm (aka Ocean Master), an arrogant douchebag king who wants bring war of Atlantis by killing all the kingdoms. Black Manta is pretty much like The Joker in Suicide Squad.

Even though this film is not bad, but its not as great as Wonder Woman.

Number 11: Ant-Man and The Wasp

Marvel films in 2018 was a big year that they made some great films. Well, most of them.

The First Ant-Man is rather ok, despite its a similar story from the first MCU film, Iron Man. But when they made "Ant-Man and The Wasp", it had a potential and it was not only better than the first one, but i don't think i called an epic one.

Picking up after "Ant-Man" where Hope is gonna be the next generation of The Wasp, Scott Lang was free from the prison, but lives in arrest house because of "Civil War". However, he was called up from Hank Pym and Hope van Dyne, which they heard that Hank's wife Janet van Dyne isn't dead, but probably still alive in the quantum realm. But Scott didn't heard about, its up to him to reunite with Hank and teaming up with Hope in order to not only saving Hank Pym's headquarter, but also defending from Ghost.

Even though the story is rather interesting for a whereabouts of Janet, but it went into confusion for directions, especially that Ghost needs HQ in order to save her life from the affection of molecular instability.

Despite of confusion story, but the characters are rather interesting like Ant-Man, Hank, Janet and The Wasp, but the main villain like Ghost is rather forgettable, she tries to have a sympathy from the molecular instability, but execution is confused from the story.

But at least the presentation looks pretty cool, along with action scenes with shrinking, which i find it impressive and kinda funny for how it goes with shrinking gadgets. And its also colorful when we went into quantum realm. And the suits is outstanding with Ant-Man, The Wasp and even Ghost.

Ant-Man and The Wasp is rather better than the first one, but ended up with some flaws with some forgettable and possibly a semi confusion.

Number 10: Solo: a Star Wars story

After "The Last Jedi", its no wonder the new era of Star Wars started to be concerned following a "pissed off" killing some characters what we expected like Luke Skywalker, even Mark Hamill admitted that killing his character might ruined his reputation.

Anyway, following the success of "Rogue One" (aside of awkward CG edited to old characters like Grand Tarkin and Princess Leia), they made the second anthology series with the origin of Han Solo, but the development was in trouble, which it was originally to be directed by the duo Phil Lord Christopher Miller in order to have a comedy, but they got fired from creative differences which they're replaced by Ron Howard in order to change writing and finishing the project.

As a result, its actually better than Rogue One, the plot is basically the origin of Han Solo that he wants to leave his home planet Corellia with his Wookie best friend Chewbacca and other members to teaming up together for crime adventure for money. Its rather an interesting story for the early space adventure with young smuggler, especially for not only how we see the first meet with Chewie and Lando. But even if the story could be predictable.

The production is impressive for the action scenes with gun shooting in western style, space shooting and a speeder chase on Corellia, which its impressive for some highlights. And of course, im very surprised for the designs of the Millennium Falcon for how it introduced in the early time, which it looks rather nice and clean, before it turned into the design that we all know and love in the original trilogy. Even the acting is pretty good for Alden as Han Solo and Donald Glover as Lando. Not only them, but they did have some likable characters not just Han, Chewie or Lando, but also L3-37.

Despite the effort that they made this movie with a positive review, but the movie aren't safe for box-office bomb. Which the budget was estimated 275–300 million dollars, while the box office is over 392.9 million dollars, even though its a nice way to reaching over at the end, but the damage was already done for the poor commercial, especially the first trailer was pretty dull. And because of that, Disney lost the range of 50 to 80 million dollars, resulting a cancellation of an anthology film with Boba Fett and change the project to the show in Disney+ called "The Mandalorian".

Solo, a good movie with a bad reputation of box-office.

Number 9: Bohemian Rhapsody

As a fan of Queen since my childhood, i was very surprise and curious to hearing about a movie based on the true story of the band Queen and the life of Freddie Mercury. And this exactly what we have.

The movie actually nice to see where did Freddie begin to meet his fellow members from the club that Brian May and Roger Taylor after having a hard time with former member Tim Staffell who left the group "Smile" to a formation of Queen with inclusion of John Deacon. Even though they started with a mixed reaction, especially with the title song "Bohemian Rhapsody" due to the questionable lyric, but became a smash hit. Not to mention, it also goes with a love triangle for our main lead of Queen, because as we all know, he was gay that he's making out with Paul Prenter, causing a difficulty relation with Mary Austin.

What i like this movie is aside the story that i like to see how it goes in origin, but also the montage with our familiar songs, colorful stages and more, it is quiet of fun ride. And of course, the concert of Live Aid is easily the best part of the movie that we all know and love.

Unfortunately, it doesn't mean it had a perfect story, because some moment are inaccurate to follow, including the lack of appearance of Jim Hutton, the first meet of Mary Austin in the same night of the formation band, when in reality, she was first meet in 1969 when she worked as receptionist in the clothing store called Biba, or the infamous of all Freddie was diagnose of AIDS took place before Live Aid, when in true story, he had AIDS in 1986, one year after Live Aid.

Despite the botchy history, but its the presentation, a development and the focus of Freddie is always enjoy to see this adaptation of the origin of Queen.

Number 8: Ready Player One

Oh man, this one had a lot of potential of a crossover in the VR world of internet.

With a movie directed by Steven Spielberg caught a lot of attention from me, VR users and crossover fans as well and it definitely shows.

Taking place in future in a slum city, where our main hero Wade Watts was not only enjoy video games, but also fascinated about the secrets in the online of OASIS, that it was originally created by James Halliday, but the online digital world was ruled by douchebag CEO name Nolan Sorrento is keeping his eyes in the digital world in peace, its up to Wade Watts as Parzival along with his members of "High Five" to find the secret keys in order to find the Easter Egg.

Its an interesting story where we like to finding an Easter Egg in various video games, but in a fictional game hub in OASIS, that will be like a big deal, aside to chasing away from the authority. Even though the story is rather simple, just an adventure to finding a secret treasure in the world of video game.

But what it makes this film so unique, its the presentation how it takes place in OASIS, it has a lot of cool moments of racing, battles, going to the museum about the history of James Halliday, the party club, the war against the authority and even a noticable characters and other stuff from various series and cultures, like Tracer from Overwatch, a Mobile suit Gundam, Iron Giant, a time machine Delorean, a monster truck Bigfoot and so much more others.

With an impressive setting and awesome presentation, but the characters is a different story, mainly because most of them are pretty much under developed, like Wade Watts is a user who's fascinated about Easter Eggs, Nolan Sorento is an A-Hole CEO, Samantha Cook is an ally user and possibly Wade's love interest and James Halliday is a visionary of virtual reality. Despite the flaws of development, the acting are actually good in honesty.

Despite the lack of character developments what we want likability, but its the story, the setting and the presentation is the best part of the film, even though it would've been better to be higher in the list.

Number 7: Venom

Alright, i know that this is the film that the critics didn't like the movie for the reasons of questionable tones and other stuff.

But personally, i don't its not a bad movie, i mean its rather a good film, i mean its like my wish is come true that i like to see a standalone movie with an anti-hero name Venom. Ok, maybe not a perfect film, but again, its not the worst movie ever.

As i said before, Venom on the big screen started in Spider-Man 3 and it has one of the worst depiction ever for making Peter Parker look emo and having a worst casting ever for Eddie Brock.

Thankfully, Sony decided to changing during the development of Venom that Eddie will be played by Tom Hardy and i think it suited nicely for him.

The story is where Brock was used to work as a reported on the TV news, but got fired for crossing the line during the interview with the CEO of Life Foundation name Carlton Drake and having a break up from Anne Weying, leaving him all alone and put the blame about losing his job and Life Foundation. That is until when he broke in from the employee of Life, he was bonded by the Symbiote that he's gonna be the host of Venom, that is when there's another Symbiote broke out called "Riot".

Although its an interesting story, but the tone is questionable that it doesn't know what its gonna be, is it dark tone, light tone, comedy tone or... Whatever the heck the other tone genre it goes. It just plain random and confusion where it goes. Don't give me wrong, i did laugh at some moments, especially when Eddie doesn't want to jump off, but decided to use the elevator for "safety". (Pussy...!)

Though Tom's Eddie Brock/Venom is easily the likable character in the movie, while the rest aren't as interesting what we expected to be likable, especially with Carlton, he's easily the most forgettable villain ever, he's just a big boss who wants to change the world and thats it.

Another problem of this movie is that although the presentation and the action scenes are pretty cool with the bike chase and fighting sequences, but rating wasn't supposed to be like that. Because it was originally to be R rated movie like we had such as Logan or Deadpool, but it was downgraded to PG-13 in order to toning down the violent, which it doesn't suited for this movie, mainly because Venom is an anti-hero for killing people and hungry for flesh.

Despite the flaws that it concerns the potential, but at least its nice to see my favorite human in an alien being on the big screen, better than the one in Spider-Man 3.

Number 6: Deadpool 2

Speaking of Deadpool, here's another one of another favorite anti-hero of mine, the merc with the mouth himself.

After the success of the first Deadpool (despite its pretty average, due to the generic story), its no secret that we like to have another movie with Deadpool, as a result, its easily better than before.

Picking two years after the first movie, Deadpool lost his girlfriend, Vanessa, he's left alone and probably put the blame for losing his girlfriend (what's the matter? She's pretty much useless that we don't care about her), he was being called by X-Men members like Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead in order to dealing at an orphan mutant with fire power name Russell Collins (though he's Firefist, but he's still referred as Russell) that he's trying to stop him, but went too further that Russ and Deadpool are taken to the isolation prison for mutants. Just then we meet the cybernetic soldier from the future name Cable, where's targeting at Russell before becoming a mutant murderer.

Even though the story is pretty much an escort like before, but instead of typical damsel in distress, its a mutant boy in distress for get away from the future soldier, when in reality, Russell is gone mad that he killed the staff members when he was abused. Which its rather a nice twist. They also including the element for the birth of X-Force, but didn't last long, even though its kinda funny. Though X-Force will never happen, until we get the third one in the future.

The characters are enjoyable to see in the movie, like Deadpool himself, Cable, Domino (despite the questionable mutant what she has that i don't get it), Colossus and probably Juggernaut, Beeyatch! And the acting is also impressive as well, its almost like they like to have a fun time, including Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, like Ryan. Though some are rather forgettable for me, like Russell.

With some not so interesting character and having a X-Force too soon, this is the film that we can all agree that its better than the first one.

Number 5: Ralph breaks the internet

Wreck-It Ralph is easily a good film with video games, because, its rather original and it has a feel like "Who frame with Roger Rabbit?", but in video game elements, likely the arcades.

Since it was so successful, we've never expected to have a sequel , which Disney did, rather than in similar fashion im arcade world, we're going to the internet. Yup, picking up after the first movie from six years later, Vanellope is left homeless, due to broken down glitch that it destroyed a steering wheel, which Ralph though it will be a good idea to make a shortcut. Due to the malfunction, Ralph though it will be a good idea to going into the digital world known as "Internet", in order to buy an expensive steering wheel on eBay.

Even though its about where she's going whether she 'll going back to Sugar Rush or even change her life to "Slaughter Race", what it does work for the story is the relation between Ralph and Vanellope, they always want to deal the decision about the plan, since they're in the internet.

But what it makes soo impressive is the presentation of the digital world of Internet, its so imaginative what we've expected, i like how they made, its looks creative, colorful and fun in the same time, The characters are also enjoyable like Ralph, Vanellope, Shank, Yesss, Knowsmore and even some cameos in "Oh My Disney!", including the Disney Princesses, i love what they included.

Though the downside is that some characters like Felix and Calhoun appeared small, but they're easily forgettable that il easily skip ahead and it have a lack of villain. Well, debatable if its really Ralph or not.

"Ralph breaks the Internet", despite the lack of villain, but it is a fun ride to visiting to the Internet.

Number 4: Black Panther

With the first film of 2018, i was predicting that its gonna be a good film, but since this is MCU, its pretty obvious that its a great start.

Picking up after Civil War where T'Chaka died, T'Challa returns to Wakanda that he come the king of the land, not before he was aware about his sovereignty was picked up by Erik Stevens (aka Killmonger) in order not only become a king, but also providing a global revolution.

The story is pretty cool and what is Wakanda about, which its actually pretty cool for a fictional land in Africa and what the African representing in Wakanda, its pretty impressive and its also significant for MCU.

The characters are always likable in the movie, with T'Challa being an aware for his responsible as the king of the land, Okoye is an extremely proud of Border Tribe and T'Challa's bodyguard, which she's easily a badass sidekick, Killmonger is thoughtful, patient and strategist villain, Shuri is the brain of Wakanda for the technology and M'Baku as a ruthless leader of mountain tribe, even though he was never referred ad "Man-Ape, which it doesn't fit as the leader of the mountain. Even though some who's pretty much useless for comic relief like the CIA member name Everett K. Ross.

And of course, lets not forget about the presentation, the setting of Wakanda is pretty huge as a city, especially it created barrier to keep the land safe, which is pretty impressive what they created of the land, the action scene is also pretty cool with car chases, fight scenes and the battle between Black Panther and Killmonger. Even the Black Panther and Gold Panther are pretty cool for their suits

But the reason why i never pick it up on the podium, its because some moments has a problem, aside of CIA member, but some CG effect that although its a nice looking, but others has some issue of the quality that ended up look like video game, but some background got frozen when i noticed.

Even though it had a tiny flaws, but its a pretty nice to have an African-American hero on the big screen, aside when first appeared in Civil War two years ago.

Number 3: Spider-Man into the Spider-Verse

As a fan of Spider-Man, im surprised that i've never heard when Marvel invented "Spider-Verse", which im overly curious if there's a movie about it, well Sony Pictures Animation did for their adaption, which im kinda concerned at first, since they made a lot of stupid comedy movies, but with this one, im glad they've done better what they changed.

With this, its about where Miles Morales lives with his family, but he was rather fascinated about Spider-Man, despite his parents doesn't believe about Spidey hero, but as a vigilant much like Jonah Jameson's statement in Daily Bugle. But once Miles was bitten by a radio-active Spider and the news where Spider-Man was tragically died, he was trying to figure out for how and what Spider-Man is about, not to mention, he meets the different versions of Spider-Man, such as Peter B. Parker (aka the downward version of Peter), Gwen Stacy (aka Spider-Gwen), Spider-Man Noir, Peni Parker and Spider-Ham from the sake of the main villain Kingpin.

I find the story is actually well written that our main hero Miles has to know for what makes him to become as the next Spider-Man, and of course, the movie also gives a heart for what we care or rooting for Miles or the other versions of Spider-Man, especially with some moment with a father and son relation, it makes it reasonable and emotional if Miles is about to lose. Even though the could could be a little bit fast paste.

But what it makes it spectacular, its the animation, which its easily the biggest development what Sony Animation have ever done for a collaboration with Sony Pictures Imageworks, in order to make a different styles of animation, whether its the monochrome appearance of Spider-Man Noir, an anime style for Peni Parker or even Looney Tunes style of Spider-Ham. While the normal characters designs are also pretty good looking, kinda like a comic book comes to life. Though sometimes some movements are kinda like in stop-motion thingy.

The characters are enjoyable what we like to see like Miles, Peter Parker, Gwen, with some side characters like Jefferson Davis, May Parker or even Aaron Davis, as well with some villain cool looking villains like Prowler, Scorpion, Tombstone or even Olivia Octavius. Though Kingpin may have a potential, but not as best villain, which his goal is bringing back his own family like his wife and his son.

A very surprisingly great film by Sony Pictures animation, "Spider-Man into the Spider-Verse" is easily a better film than "Hotel Transylvania 3".

Number 2: Avengers Infinity War

Let me start off by saying that, yes, i know this film would've been a number one spot of my list of 2018. But don't give me wrong, i love this movie, its just that its a great, but would've been considered to be 100% perfect some teeny tiny problems.

This is the film what many MCU fans considered as one of the best installment of the series, and i probably agree with them, it is a very impressive film what we like to see. But i wanted to put a spoiler alert, because its the one that everyone are talking about in the end.

Sometimes picking up after Thor Ragnarok, Thanos and his four lieutenants invade the ship of Asgards to killing (including Loki, sadly) and knocking down Thor and Hulk when Thanos retrieve a cosmic cube that happens to be Space Stone into his gauntlet. Its up the Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy team up together to stop Thanos before he destroys the living in half.

The story of this film is easily the big deal that we like to see a battle with the group of heroes and Thanos's lieutenants, its easily the best story of the movie from the comic. But my problem is that if they called "Infinity War", it has nothing to do with the comic with a same name, instead it was an MCU version of the comic "The Infinity Gauntlet". Despite the identical confusion, but at least its a well-written the story.

The action scenes if once again the highlights of the film with all the cool fight scenes, like the epic war in Wakanda, the new weapon of Thor, the battle in Titan and the presentations is a popcorn entertainment. What i like is the setting place of the planet Titan, Nidavellir where Thor is making a new weapon to replacing Mjolnir, which i really like the changing weapon with an ax called "Stormbreaker".

Though we always like some characters that we're familiar with like Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Spider-Man, Black Widow, Guardians of the Galaxy, Black Panther, Bucky Barns and few others. Despite some would've been better like Bruce Banner (aka The Hulk) and the lieutenants.

But easily the most talked about is Thanos himself, he's easily the big deal and probably nearly a main focus to know for how he wants to capturing Infinity Stones, which not only he's a pose a threat, but he's also has a sympathy figure for what he care for changing the universe with his own gauntlet, which we think ourselves "Maybe Thanos isn't really a bad guy, but more either a good guy or maybe neutral". Which it makes no wonder why we cared so much about Thanos, especially some moments not only it was shocking, but also heart broken, like one point where he literally kill his adopted daughter Gamora in order to get a Soul Stone from the keeper Red Skull.

And of course, the final act is another most talked about of the film, when after Thanos completed his goal to collecting Infinity Stones, we though that our heroes is lost, but then out of nowhere, Thor reappeared with Rocket Racoon and pre-mature Groot, where he uses his Stormbreaker to wounding Thanos that we though he finally win, but it was too soo that Thanos uses his gauntlet for a snap, which it was even more shocking moments, after all that, half of livings of the universe are all disintegrated like almost every members of Guardians of the Galaxy (minus Rocket and Nebula), Dr. Strange, Black Panther and even more sadly, Spider-Man.

When i saw it the ending, i was shocked and feared that half of livings of the universe are killed off, which we ask our questions, what happened now after a huge disaster from Thanos's snap? The answer, is we're in Endgame, meaning our original heroes have to find the way to back to do a rematch against Thanos in the hardest way as possible, but we have to wait, with Captain Marvel (aka Carol Denver).

But in fairness, as i stated from previous list, i don't call "The movie of the year 2018", i specifically called "The live-action film of the year 2018", without causing a chaotic debate, just to clarify. With so much potential, so successful, so impact and yet shocking, this is the film that its easily the biggest installment of MCU.

And now, my number one film of the year 2018 goes to...

Number 1: Incredibles 2

Out of all the sequels, superheroes or even Pixar's film, this is easily the best animated film of the year 2018 and of course, my new favorite film by Pixar.

So whats it make so special to put this on top of the list, its because we always like to see what happened next after the first movie with a cliffhanger, even Brad Bird really wanted going back to Pixar to make sequel after 14 years, with the result, it was pure success.

Picking up after the cliffhanger, the family of Incredibles failed to catch The Underminer when he ran away with a loads cash from the bank and the drill damages the city hall (despite Frozone's effort to protect the hall), the government is forced to shut down "Superhero Relocation Program" from the damage and believe the superheroes are illegal, causing our main heroes sent back to hotel and no longer having financial assistance from Rick Dicker (and risky reveal where Tony's unnoticed of Violet's identity for erasing his memory), causing them for what to do without profit. Thankfully, Bob and Helen noticed the offer where Frozone found is to going to DevTech, a corporation for not just telecommunications, but also planning to bringing back the superheroes in peace from the owner Winston Deavor and his sister Evelyn. Elastigirl was chosen from Winston, saying that she never cause damages than Mr. Incredible and also help to providing home. Not only that, she also have to looking for the main antagonist name "Screenslaver".

Though the story feels like the same element from the first movie, but rather focus on island to dealing with Syndrome, but more focus in the city for the whereabouts of Screenslaver for his hypnotic hack. Not to mention, it also have a plot element for family, which not only Elastigirl will be the main role, but Bob has to take his kids for any reasons, where Dash has a hard time for the math, Violet has a complicated feeling about Tony from before, and Jack-Jack has a full of surprise of multiple powers what we like to see, in a hilarious way. Which not only it execute for some funny moment, but also the heart for how Bob have a hard time to take care and probably the truth for why he wanted to go back as a hero than being stuck in home. It understandable, but i guess its no wonder that i like the role reverse after the first movie.

Like usual for Pixar, the animation is outstanding, especially to the upgrade of the details, the designs, the action scenes and so much more, which i really what they've done for a movie taking place in vintage era of superheroes, which its like having a nostalgia feel if you're a fan of old school comics. I mean, i really like what they give for the update of our main heroes.

And the characters are likable and nice to see them again after nearly 15 years, with Helen Parr (aka Elastigirl) being the main focus, but also being feisty and well respect mother, Bob (aka Mr. Incredible) is although he could be any risk, but also caring about his kids and superheroes, even he might losing himself after spending days for the math, difficulty relation (despite his accidental exposure truth to Violet) and Jack-Jack's multiple powers.

Speaking of kids, while some of them remain the same like Dash is a troublemaker and Jack-Jack is a comic relief for his powers, but Violet is also likable for her new development, she was trying to be with Tony for the date, bit again, due to her accidental revealing her identity, that might cause to losing her hope of relationship and being a superhero. But thankfully, she does to get better for understanding for her father's mistake and become leader to her brothers to working together as a heroes.

While the new casts are nice to see, even some have flaws. For Winston, i find him to be a very fascinated new character, which he wanted to bring back the old roots of superheroes for peace and legal again, which i find him to be a well written character, Evelyn is also interesting, being the technological genius and sometimes a nice friend with Elastigirl, but i think we all know what happen next for her (which once again, il give a Spoiler Alert). While the other superheroes are although rather cool like Voyd while others, despite they have some interesting powers, but they're probably gimmicky.

As for the villain, Screenslaver, though he may have a potential for his dark appearance and manipulative monologue for why he's hacking any screens for hypnotism, but he's probably shot-lived and reveal to be controlled by Evelyn for the whole thing. its rather a cliche unexpected twist like Disney did, but despite Screenslaver may have potential, but he's not as good than Syndrome.

Even though it has flaws for short-lived villain and gimmicky other heroes, but the animation thats nicely updated, the likable old and new casts and the good role-reverse story makes it so good that im very happy them again after the first movie, it will always holding to my heart that it makes a good reason what i considered as my number one movie of the year 2018.

Got any other good films that i missed? Let me know in the comments bellow.

If you guys have your opinion or any suggestions, let me know at comment bellow and support me on KO-FI.com/blackevil.

Tune it next time, il go with the video games with good and bad that i like to share my opinion what i've seen or even played, but il taking about it next year after the celebration.

Thanks for reading and im Anthony, signing out and Happy New Year (even though its early, but this will be my final post in 2018).

Top 8 worst movies of 2018

Hey everyone, my name is Anthony and welcome back to the countdown.

2018 is kinda divided for the movies, they're a few great films that it deserves to be rewatch, but others are so bad that we don't wanna see them ever again.

In my previous years, i only made my top list of best films, but in this year, i watched more than five films in disappointed to traumatizing for wasting my time and money. So, this is the first time im doing my two parts of countdown of movies in 2018. So, il start with the negative one that i like to get off my chest to looking back a bit. Case in points, eight worst films of 2018.

Just to heads up, this list are the films that i watched from disappointment to the worst. So some bad films like "Hotel Transylvania 3" or "Sherlock Gnome" won't be on the list that im glad i never watch them

So, lets get started the list with the films that i wish i never watch them for the first time.

Number 8: The Happytime Murders

Lets start with the one that kinda like, but tried so hard for weird reasons.

For the story, it feels like a typical murdering case of the fictional puppet show with our main private investigator name Phil Philips with his unlikely partner name Connie Edwards from the police department. And... Thats pretty much else to say about the story, its pretty much a generic murder case story, but with puppets.

But i have to admit, the puppet designs are rather not bad looking, they're basically like a parody design based on either" Sesame Street" or "The Muppet Show", Speaking of Sesame Street even though they had a lawsuit from the Sesame Workshop for ripping off the tagline, but the case was dismissed by the judge, because they already changed the tagline during the ads, but poke fun about the lawsuit.

The characters are rather ok for the performance, but they have a generic development that Phil is more like an anti-hero from the past and Connie is a broken down officer from the past. But i think i know this movie is a common flaw that Melissa McCarthy appears in bad comedy films, but i guess i could say this film is kinda better than GhostBusters 2016?

With the puppets is not bad, but its the story that is rather boring, pretty bellow average characters and some jokes are...  not as funny what they tried. It feels like they trying to be like a puppets version of "The Sausage Party", but the different is that "The Sausage Party" done better, despite the backstage politics at some employees. Aw well...

Number 7: Death Wish 2018

Making a remake films is rather a bad idea in order to appeal for modern viewers instead of some viewers are familiar with original ones.

But with Death Wish 2018, its not the worst remake ever, but again, i had seen worse. This remake of 1974 with a same name stars Bruce Willis as surgeon named Paul Kersey, who seeks revenge over his dead daughter from the gang or murders, as he decides to hide himself with a hood and his gun to kill them as a vigilant hero.

Though the presentation is average and the action scenes are not bad cause i like gun shooting in various films, but its just the it doesn't have anything new about this remake, its just a vigilante seeks revenge over his daughter from the murderers. It feels like a cash in remake without anything new.

Even though i kinda like it, but didn't work as a remake, like it would've been ok for a different title than slapping the name after 1974 film starred Charles Bronson. But i've nothing against Bruce Willis, he's still a great actor, even though that he deserves better than being in remake.

Number 6: Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

Jurassic Park is the most ground breaking film about the breaking of dinosaurs in animal park in the fictional island. It became a big deal from the success by our favorite director Steven Spielberg.

With he success, there's gotta be a sequel, because box office. The sequels went average to utterly bad like Jurassic Park 3. When Jurassic World came out to bring back the old franchise, its a welcome return, but not as perfect that i can say, but once again, with box office success, they' made another one, but boy it showed.

With "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom", this is easily the biggest disappointment. I mean it had a great start where the dinosaurs are picking up to get away from Isla Nublar's destruction from volcano, including saving the last raptor name Blue. With the dinosaurs are saved, you expected to to hear or see something new for tell us about the dinosaurs or maybe add anything new?

Nope, despite it has something new, but it ended into a boring film with a same plot element about a hybrid dinosaur for replacing Velociraptor to Indoraptor and even some pointless clone element.

Though its nice to see some of our favorite characters like Chris Pratt's Owen Grady, but the biggest slap in the face is they brought back Jeff Goldblum's character Ian Malcolm, which i expected he'll show up for helping our main heroes up, but no, he's just appeared in cameo, talk a waste of potential since Blade Runner 2049.

With some good acting, unique effects, a good first act, but its the story feels like it was tripped by a shoe laces, some forgettable characters and poor plot elements that its been done before. Sadly, with box office succeed, they're gonna make another one in 2021. Oooy...!

Number 5: Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween

It is no secret for Goosebumps, its one of the most kids horror story by R.L. Stine back in the 90's. As time goes, the series still going for the focus of spin offs, which it wasn't lived up from the 90's.

As years passed, we wanted to see a movie based on the books, with the first movie in 2015, it is pretty good one that instead of adapting from one book, its basically a story where the books come to life and causing chaos, its rather original what they did.

Then three years later, they made a sequel in October with Halloween elements, right? But guess what? Its the same story from before, but with Halloween theme, its almost like it was written by a writer who doesn't know how make something new, just borrow the same story from before and bring back Slappy the dummy back as the main villain again. But to be fair, i like Slappy in the movie, but didn't live up he's not voiced by Jack Black. Speaking of Jack Black, he did return as fictional R.L. Stine, but like Ian Malcolm, his appearance is pretty small that he didn't helping out our main heroes.

Though the new characters are mixed, with the main boys like Sonny and Sam are rather not bad, but Sarah is a generic "don't give a crap" sister of the family. But some are likable that i want to see more like Mr. Chu.

This is the movie that its a lot more disappointed with recycled story, some average effects (because some times the quality feels video game-ish) and the characters are bellow average. Which i wasn't sure if they're gonna make another one.

Number 4: Rampage

Lets face it, making movies based on video games is a salt on open wound to video gamers that its easily predictable they're gonna be very bad. Well, except for Wreck-It Ralph, its a good one for originality.

I mean, i always keeping myself away to never watching a movie based on video game, which we are easily believe its gonna be bad. But i break my own rule to watching Rampage, because when it showed the trailer, it looks like it might be promising, but it was a lie.

But in fairness, it has some good things like giant monsters, some good effects and nice role with The Rock. But unfortunately, it ended quickly that this movie hasn't anything to do with the video game with the same name, the plot is generic and everything about it is pretty much boring.

Instead of three people being mutated into giant monsters, instead it the animals was mutated into giant size to causing rampage, sounds good in theory, but the problem is the identity for having an adaptation of a 1986 arcade game by Midway, but failed miserably.

I know i learned the lesson, but my damage of breaking my rule was already done that il be regretted. The presentation is ok, the story feels empty and the characters are easily under-developed. Except for The Rock, he has a good performance. But at least he's not as cartooney than Hulk Hogan.

Number 3: Slender Man

In the world of horror films in nowadays, i feel that many people tried really hrd making something scary, but ended up to boring or stupid. But  "Slender Man" is the biggest boring horror film to adapting from the urban legend of the internet.

Slender Man is the most notable mysterious figure from post in the internet, a tall, faceless entity wearing a suit, stretching his arms and summons tentacles for kidnapping innocent kids got a lot of  attention in the internet, resulting plenty of adaptions with short movies and even video games.

As time went, Hollywood though it will be a good idea to adapting a movie based on the internet urban legend, which i have to admit, i was anticipating that maybe it will be a big deal, but no.

This movie tried so hard to give a truth about Slender Man, but failed for a poor truth, the characters are the most cliche as we've seen in various horror films, which they don't have a smart decision, which they ended up either disappeared or even causing panic attack.

This is the horror that its a complete waste of time with effortless writing, lame characters and the production is so bellow average. Just stick to the indie game of Slender Man or maybe other horro films that they're good like Halloween.

Number 2: Pacific Rim: Uprising

The first Pacific Rim might be a good film in 2013, despite the under performed box office, it was considered an homage of Japanese cultures with giant robots and Kaijus, which its no wonder why it had a cult following after five years.

And then, they made a sequel with some new casts, including John Boyega for not only acting, but also work as a producer for the first time in his career. Which you'll think that they improve the story, the characters and cool actions, right?

Sadly no, it was easily the worst sequel i've ever seen, the story is the same thing as before, but with a different plot element where our heroes noticed an evil version of Jaeger named "Obsidian Fury", which turned out to be the machine has Kaiju's brain, which we though thats over, but no, i just carrying on for more focus of actions, rather like to know about the characters or anything in the movie.

Speaking of characters, they're all forgettable (aside from John Boyega's role), they didn't have anything new or even more development for what they are, and some previous characters are killed off like Mako, which she was supposed to have a reunion to the main hero Raleigh.

Not to mention, they even attempt to have some jokes, but the jokes are given from the dialogues, but good lord, they're terrible for their desperation. Like they tried so hard to do some funny lines like Marvel Cinematic Universe, but awful. Its almost like it was written by a kid who tries so hard to have fun, but ended up into confusion for the meaning.

Though the action scenes with Jaegers and Kaijus are fun, but i can't get enough with lame story, horrible jokes and more under-developed characters. But i hope the series will be better on Netflix next year as an anime show.

And now, the number 1 worst movie of 2018 goes to...

Number 1: Teen Titans Go! To the movie!

Oh my goodness sake...! Where do i begin?

First of all, Cartoon Network made "Teen Titans Go!", which we can all agree that its one of the worst remake ever, which they though its likely gear towards kids for chaotic comedy like "Hotel Transylvania 3". And finally, they made a movie based on the show which it had a lotta dislikes on Youtube and im obviously believe il never watching it.

But then out of nowhere when i came out, it had a positive review that i was pretty skeptical that il watching to find out how it was good, right? But no, i feel like i was completely wrong...!

This is hands down,  the most frustrating experience i've ever been for watching this movie, like this movie is horrible that it has no reason to be a "good idea" to be in the big screen. If Steven Universe was announced to have a movie only on TV, but why they think that its ok to put it on the big screen?!

For starter, the animation is alright, i know its a typical cartooney design, which this is based on the show, but including a lot of DC superheroes in the background for their cameos. The animation is the only positive part of this movie.

But the positive came to an end that everything about this movie is god awful and disgraceful to watch. Like the story feels like its non-exist, mainly because they focused way to much of stupid jokes, and the jkes are too childish and immature, its as they have no idea how make a good story, just put random stupid jokes in order to laugh that i am barely laugh!! not to mention having story about "Be yourself" or "be a true superhero" are poorly written that they ended up meaningless for more focus bad comedy much like Happy Madison films

The characters doesn't feel like characters, the heroes Teen Titans have to the stereotypical personalities they tried so hard to be likable or even rooting for, but they ended up play obnoxious and annoying like Jake and Logan Pauls! They wanted to rooting for Robin in order that he's gonna be the next hero after Batman, but plain stupid for his selfish way!

God-F***ing-Dammit! Its "The Emoji Movie" all over again, but with superheroes by Cartoon Network. Its horrible, disgusting and an absolute disgraceful idea by one of the biggest animated show company of all time. This will make a good reason why i considered it as the number one worst movie ever made in 2018!

I mean, this is the film that it was not by the company or even Corporate Driver, No! This is the idea by the Devil itself!!!

*rumbles*

Anthony (me): Uh oh... i... I think i crossed the line...!

???: Did someone say about it...?!

Anthony: This... This getting worse what i expected..!!

*the floor explodes to revealing a demonic version of Anthony named "Anthonoh"

Anthonoh: *crackles* Thats right, Canadian boy, it was me, all along...!

Corporate Driver: *walks in* Ok seriously?! You clearly disturbing my business for--

Anthonoh: Shaddap you!

Corporate Driver: *groans*

Anthony: Anthonoh...! you're must be involve from this abomination!

Anthonoh: Well of course i do, i've came up the idea to CN for ruining the nostalgia for all the wrong reasons.

Anthony: But why? Why would you want to take control at CN for doing a remake?

Anthonoh: Thats because ever since the early show was so popular, they went to cashing in for a modern childish design of animation in order to have negative reaction from audiences from the internet or even the critics, which it always makes me hungry to eating their souls of IQ from their traumatize, anger and countless questions, they'll give up that they'll ended up into depression that i always like to eating their IQ~... *slurps*

Anthony: Oh... I guess it kinda make sense for creating something that no human being will ever do.

Anthonoh: And so, the projects of 2018 is coming to en end, i can't to hear something awesome at 2019 that i like to eating more souls of IQ and il become much bigger than anyone can! *burst of evil laugh and explodes himself to going back in hell*

Corporate Driver: ... So...?

Anthony: Welp, i accidentally unleashed the devil version of me...

Corporate Driver: Do you have anything else to me?

Anthony: Nah, just go back to your thing.

Corporate Driver: Right.... *walks away*

Well, got any other worst movies that i missed, let me know at the comments bellow.

Top 10 Controversial moments of 2018

Hey everyone, my name is Anthony and welcome back to my countdown after nearly one year hiatus.

We're finally coming to the end of 2018, but as we all know, we're still insufferable since last year with more politics BS and disasters. But like before, im making my top list of the year 2018 of movies and random list of video games, but il stick what i know, its pointing some moments that i find it to be so bad that's controversial for the bad taste of 2018 with 10 of them

But of course, i made my Dishonorable mention list in DeviantArt, il give you the link:  Dishonorable mention

So, lets get started the controversies, shall we?

Number 10: Nintendo Switch's online subscription

Nintendo Switch is considered to be a huge success and easily better than the Wii U for the marketing and the third party support for the hybrid system. Heck, i spend hours to play some of my favorite games like Splatoon 2 and Smash Bros Ultimate. Unfortunately, not even Nintendo could be rather nice for let us do whatever we want, such as the case of online subscription.

Launched in September 2018, Nintendo announced that we have to pay the online subscription in order to play online like the mentioned Splatoon or Smash Bros Ultimate. Not only that, but also with voice chat (with mobile app), Cloud Saves and even free NES games if you subscribed. That might be alienated at Switch users that they felt Nintendo jumped on the bandwagon of online subscription like XBox Gold membership and Playstation Plus.

But the reason why i put this in lower list, its because at least the online prices are pretty cheap to buy. They're almost like less than 10 dollars for one or three months online (like 5 and 10 dollars), which i recommend to buy them in order to save your money. Well, unless you counted 25 dollars for 12 months or even 45 dollars with not only the same thing, but also for "Family Membership", which i have no idea why.

But just to clarify that those prices that i mentioned are from my homeland Canada for the currency. While in US, the one month costs about 4 USD, and the three months is 8 USD.

They're not as greedy for controversial, but at least its nice to giving us a lower price than Xbox or Playstation memberships.

Number 9: Butch Hartman's fallen from the grace

As we all know, Butch Hartman is the most recognizable man for working at Nickelodeon, he brought us "The Fairly Odd Parents", "TUFF Puppy" and his favorite show he's ever done "Danny Phantom". He also made "Bunsen is a Beast", but it didn't matter about the last one. Not to mention, he even making videos on Youtube that i likes to drawing with crossovers and "What ifs".

But, after working on Nickelodeon in 20 years, Hartman was announced for leaving the company to focusing on his own projects like his future cartoons like "Elf Detective" and few others.

However, things started to get skeptical when he announced to making his streaming service of family entertainment called "OAXIS". After the goal was reached, we expected that this will make a potential of his stream? Sadly no, because several days after the success goal, he betrayed us, saying that it was promoted for Christian value, since he was openly devout of Christianity.

As a result, everyone was not very pleased over his announcement saying it ruined the promotion and calling him a scammer. But Butch didn't care very much that he's neglecting the supporters, as if he wanted his project OAXIS that its a big deal.

When i heard that, even though he had a very good drawings and he had done his pretty good shows, but with his promotion of OAXIS is easily damage his popularity and his legacy over the lies and denying his supporters that it wasn't a big deal. That made me feel concern for his streaming service after the Kickstarter campaign.

He may have a great works, but his controversial stream service and backstage politic towards the fans might easily tarnish that we love or respect to him.

Number 8: John Lasseter's leaving Disney/Pixar

In the millennium, Disney had a bad taste after the famous era of "Disney Renaissance" in the 90's, with some good to average films and the box office aren't helping for the poor marketing and even some was considered a Box Office Bomb like "Treasure Planet" and the infamous "Home of the Range". Not to mention, it had a bad relation between Disney and Pixar due to a backstage politic between the late Steve Jobs and former CEO Michael Eisner. Thankfully, after Eisner's leaving, Bob Iger came in as new CEO to paying billion dollars to Pixar for working together, with John Lasseter became a chief creative officer with Disney and Pixar.

So, you would think that John is rather a nice guy for to helping anyone for to films for great review and box office, right? But i already mention the Weinstein effect last year that he was being targeted for the sexual misconduct. Leaving Lasseter to be absent for 6 months. But the damage was already done that it was claimed that he was allegedly mistreating at some employees with groping, kissing and a dumb statement of physics.

Because of his missteps of his action, he was calling quit at the end of 2018, which resulting a lot of changing roles of Disney and Pixar. Pete Doctor was announced to taking his role as CCO of Pixar and for Disney Animation Studio is Jennifer Lee.

In the end John Lasseter will be left alone in different ways after his impulsive action towards to companies he's ever been for all the wrong reasons.

Number 7: Channel Awesome's drama

Also known as "Change the Channel" about the drama of review website.

In the very beginning, we're always familiar with Nostalgia Critic, aka Doug Walker. He's famously known for reviewing some films are average or even the worst. But also like to do some others like Top 11 (for one step beyond) and my favorite is taking a look of old school commercials. In the early days, he first started to do the movie reviews and his website was used to be called "That guy with glasses". When he came out, he became popular for angry review at movies, which its kinda like Angry Video Game Nerd in reverse. And speaking of AVGN, they made several videos with a epic battle between The F***ing Nerd and Critic, which it was just for fun of rivalry.

As time goes, Doug took a tiny hiatus when TGWTG was rebranded to "Channel Awesome", but it wasn't easy for some reviewers that they're leaving like Phelous, Obscurus Lupa and Lindsay Ellis. Despite the concerns, we expected if Channel Awesome won't get any worse, right?

Sadly no, because in spring of 2018, controversies kicked in with former producers of the website exposing them that they're being mistreated and mismanaged by the members of Channel Awesome. Even though im kinda concern of Doug and Rob Walker, but the biggest blame is the CEO Mike Michaud. According to their debacle, it was reported that during the production of various reviews, several members are being insulted with sexism by Michaud or even a very poor communication with producers for decisions.

Because of mistreatment by Channel Awesome, almost every reviewers are leaving from controversies like Linkara, Todd in the shadow, Angry Joe, MikeJ, Bennett the Sage, Maven and few others. Which personally, i think they deserves better to be on their own.

You expected if Channel Awesome could make an apology for their missteps? Nope, because they made a responses by refuting about the allegations at "Holly Brown and Jane Doe" with quote "disgruntled individuals with vindictive intentions".

This is just came off as ignorant and denial over the missteps, which they put the blame at former producers for their attention, its just unprofessional, inexcusable, defensive and denial. I mean if you acting like you don't give a crap about the controversy, you know your business will falling down of rating and popularity.

Right now, they're with Cinema Snob and Larry Guru, which i really wish if these two are gonna leaving soon if there's another mistreatment. And finally, i just wish if Mike Michaud is gonna leave from the debacle.

Number 6: Death of Stan Lee

Like many years, 2018 is full of body counts of celebrities that im getting tired to hearing them over, and over and over again, which i already covered two years ago.

In this year, we lost some familiar celebs like Stefán Karl Stefánsson (whos' best known as Robbie Rotten in "Lazy Town"), Stephen Hillenburg (the creator of SpongeBob SquarePants") and several others.

But the one that it really breaks me, is our old friend and the creator of Marvel, Stan Lee. Stan Lee has been on Marvel for many years as a writer, editor and publishers, he also working with good buddies like  Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko for inventing our favorite superheros like Black Panther, Daredevil, Fantastic Four, X-Men, Scarlet Witch, Ant-Man, Iron Man and his most iconic character he ever made with Steve, Spider-Man.

After spending years to working on Marvel, he was leaving, but he's still a figurehead of the company. He does working as an independent creative ventures and of course, appearing cameos of various Marvel films that we like to spotting him.

However, he had a health issue that we went for a surgery that he was diagnosed with pneumonia, he did won at time, but it got worse that he went back, but ended with tragedy that he died with cardiac arrest and respiratory failure from pneumonia.

Its a very sad moment that he's was considered for not just a best person in Marvel, but also inspired us for making superheros for many, many, many years since our childhood memory. Whether he made the king of Wakanda, genius billionaire playboy in armor or even wall-crawler with shooting webs ever since we like to reading comics or even watching movies.

All i wanna for Stan, you inspired us, you made some great heroes and you're always a true believer. Thank you, i love your work and we will miss, old friend. Excelsior.

Number 5: Logan Paul controversial harrassement at Japan

In last year, i picked Jake Paul in my previous list of controversies for how arrogant and annoying he really is in the internet or even in the public. But like Justin Bieber, he has fan girls that they can't stop liking him for all the wrong reasons.

He has his brother name Logan Paul, which you expected that he'll do better without any obnoxious action right? Nope, because he's pretty much like Jake in a very controversial ways in the beginning of 2018.

Which he posted his vlog where he sees a dead body from hanging in  Aokigahara on Japan (aka the suicide forest, due to plenty of body counts in the forest), when he saw the dead body, he was giggled about it pulled the stupid joke. And everybody starts pointing at Logan on social media for his horrible video that its absolutely offensive. But in further research, not only he made video of suicide forest, he's also a very horrible person that he wanted to "respect" at Japanese culture, but in reality, he harassing them for disturbing their peace and destroy some properties.

Those two things for what he did is so wrong that we went into a protest, demanding that he deserves to be banned in the internet, along with Jake Paul for their arrogant, terrible stunts, cringe-worthy jokes and everything about them is disgrace of Youtube, just like Trump.

Unfortunately, no matter how many times we demanding and signing petitions to removing Logan Paul in the website, it barely works, because Youtube thinks that he didn't break three strikes, its as if they think that he's innocent! Ok, maybe i lied, but at least they fired him from the "Youtube Red" show "Foursome" and he was temporarily suspended without revenue. Although its good, but im still wishing that he deserves to be banned for life over his harassment, dead body in the forest and even worse, playing a taser with a dead rat (i am not making this up).

Like i said, Jake Paul and Logan Paul are easily the worst Youtubers in modern time, because no matter how many times we pointing up about them for what they did, we're being falsely abused by Youtube with claims or strikes for "Hate Speech", which it sounds like Youtube can't take our criticisms and they basically give money at them. Its just coming off as defensive, ignorant, greedy and denial! And Paul brothers you young blonds Sonuva B****, Kiss my arse!!

Sorry for my reaching level of anger, its just can't take these rich kids, moving on...!

Number 4: California Wildfire

Its no secret that California isn't a perfect country to be nice and clean, they had a lot of problems back in the old days.

Last year, they had a wildfire that i was quiet shock and i expected this will be one time, right? Well, no, because there was more than five reports about the wildfire in many forest of California, making as the most destructive and deadliest wildfire in history.

The most notable is the big wildfire on Carr and Mendocino Complex, which not only it destroyed properties, houses, injuries and deaths, but it also causing a spread of fire gas outside of California from the strong wind, which everyone has no choice but wearing a mask or stay home to preventing sickness or more health issues. Not to mention, it also said that wildfire are also causing climate change, thanks to a dangerous global warming with a wildfire like that.

With all the fires on California, it caused over 3.5 billion dollars of damages, along with 1.792 billion dollars of suppression costs. I feel sorry for anyone who lives in California for losing their houses and injuries, which is no wonder why everyone made a charity in order buy a new house, properties and more for these poor citizens.

Lets hope this big fire incident will never happen again next year, otherwise the environment is in danger for the future.

Number 3: WWE and Saudi Arabia

WWE had a lot of up and down moments in the year, especially some moments are messed up like the feud of Braun Strowman and Brock Lesnar in switching roles, a dumb feud of Sami Zayn and Bobby Lashlay for Bob's sisters in drags or even Asuka being a punching bag for Smackdown's Woman's championship, despite she finally got it in TLC 2018.

But probably the most controversial moment of WWE is the relation with Saudi Arabia. Because in the early years, WWE went for a deal SA for plans of PPV and money. It all started with "Greatest Royal Rumble", located on Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This event was mixed, some are appreciated to see "Greatest Royal Rumble match" with over 50 wrestlers to eliminating each other in order to win the green belt, some Universal championship between Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns (Despite the feud is tiring since John Cena vs Randy Orton) and even Titus O'Neil's slip underneath the ring that it became viral on the internet.

But others are quiet controversial with the lack of Diva matches due to the limit rights of the country (that is until WWE made female PPV event called "WWE Evolution"), the lack of appearance of Sami Zayn, because he was born as Syrian-Canadian, the homophobia caused a punishment of death and the worst of all, the lack of storylines what we expected, instead, all we get is boring PPV in order to make money for the company or even the country.

But then it gets even worse outside of the show, with one Saudi Arabian was arrest for criticizing at pro wrestling (Wait what?!), a sexism argument about women in wrestling gears or worst of all, a journalist named Jamal Khashoggi was kidnapped and murdered in Turkey due to the order of the prince Mohammad bin Salman, that doesn't make any sense at all!

Because of these, WWE received a lot of negative reception with murdered story and the protest to canceling the upcoming PPV "Crown Jewel", you expected that WWE make a response about the incident? Nope, they respond nothing, its as if they wanted to promoting "Crown Jewel" in order to adding the storyline and the "WWE World Cup" tournament. Not to mention, two big wrestlers such as John Cena and Daniel Bryan won't appear in the PPV due to the protest.

When Crown Jewel came out, this show is even worse than "Greatest Royal Rumble", with Hulk Hogan returns as a host (after his controversial racism), a pointless storyline with the return of D-Generation X confronting against The Undertaker and Kane (known as "Brothers of destruction), another show with the lack of Divas, and ending of World Cup where the final was supposed to be The Miz vs Dolph Ziggler, instead, Shane McMahon came in to replace "The Awesome One" to beat Ziggler and won the tournament in the worst way to end the show, because "More money please! More money!!"

"Crown Jewel" is the final nail of the coffin that WWE doesn't give a S*** about the reports of journalist murdered and the protest about their deal with he country. But of course in typical fashion, WWE are always ignoring them by cover the ears, looking down and walking away in order promoting Crown Jewel, its as they think we're talking in gibberish for nothing.

Way to go WWE... Way to go...!

Number 2: Tumblr's censorship and possible shut down

Lets face it, they're a lot of issues in social medias that we like to post whatever we want being removed for BS reason.

One of them is Tumblr, created in 2017, Tumblr is another website that we can blog whatever we like to. As time goes, Tumblr became popular that we like to posting for our life, memes, fan-service and more that we like to do.

Unfortunately, Tumblr is going down of hill in late 2018, which in November, it was reported that this app was pulled from Apple, due to the report of underage post. That is just exaggerating to pointing out for the drama. Like its simple, just delete something its offensive and moving on, thats it. But the app started to acting odd from the bot that removes almost every users, which i though its a glitch.

But then, the final nail of the coffin came at December 3rd 2018, where Tumblr announced they removed safe mode and even removing all the mature contents in order to be "safe". As a result, this new rule went into a huge backlash, saying this is rule of censorship spree at every users. Im one of those users i don't like their change for the censorship, which not only il no longer to be active with Tumblr, but i also made a video on Youtube about before and after of Tumblr. Like i was so angry that i always believe that Tumblr will be shut down in 2019, thanks to our backlash from their censorship.

Because censoring free speech is considered illegal, we want to post anything for acceptance!

And now, my number one of the most controversial moments of 2018 goes to...

Number 1: Internet Scandal

Now before you ask, no, its not about some of website in controversies like Facebook privacy or even the mentioned Tumblr. The one im talking about is the doomed Net Neutrality and free speech of the internet.

As i mentioned in my previous controversial list in 2017, FCC are planning to killing off Net Neutrality in order to using ISP like Verizon, AT&T and Comcast to blocking websites before we access for paying. Like this is just the stupidest idea that it hurts computer users, small businesses and more. and US Congress's "Congressional Review Act" agree in order to make Net Neutrality act in order to keeping the internet open for freedom by reverse the repeal from FCC. We succeed the goal with senators vote with 52 of accept 47 of refuse, but the downside is that it has to advanced to the House of Representatives in order to approving it from the vote until next year. Which of course, i spread the words on Twitter in order to save Net Neutrality without being scammed by FCC if we lost.

You expected that several countries will be safe with Internet freedom. My homeland Canada is all fine, which the Prime Minister Justin Trudeau won't affecting internet repeal from FCC, which is a good reason that we need Net Neutrality for free speech and acceptance. Unfortunately, US is not the only one with a plan to killing off internet, the European Union did a same thing, but even worse.

EU created Article 13, which is the plan for a full power of copyright infringement of many posts from content creators must be removed from copyrights from fair dealing like parodies and memes. Which is no wonder why it was known as "Meme Ban", which like FCC repeal, it had a lot of backlash from Europrean and Western reactions, resulting to spread the words to stop this "Article 13" in order to keep the internet open, if that happened, it easily ruined not just business and consumers, but also applications. Google and Youtube are concerned over EU's legislation that it causes to shutting down European users without FUPA (Fair Use Protection Account), which is no wonder why Google went to make a campaign to stop the proposal in order to keep the free speech open. And like Net Neutrality in US, im jumping on the bandwagon to save internet that we like to do whatever we want. If not, then the whole world without the internet is doomed.

With the combination Net Neutrality repeal and the Article 13, it made me feel concern for the future of the Internet that i need to spread the words out in order help anyone in US and Europe and they make a good reason why i put this as the number one of the most controversial moment of 2018.
